Bits and Pieces

First of all I want to say, not a day goes by that my thoughts don't go to the families and victims of the horrible bombing that has taken place in Boston. I then say a prayer for all those who were affected by the bomb. May God be glorified and may they be drawn to Him, for through Him comes the ultimate healing. I pray that those hurting may find comfort in His loving arms.

Just a few pictures to share with you today, this is the writing  lap desk that Tim made from a picture we saw in a magazine. It is a duplicate of the type that was commonly used during the colonial days. I painted and distressed it and I just love it.

Side view of the lap desk, I lined it with fabric, using liquid starch as the glue, this is such an easy way to line a box or to cover those boxes you find in the craft stores. Sorry, I didn't take pictures of the interior.
Just a few shots of the rearranging that I'm doing, cause I can't get outside and putter in the garden.
I love stacks of quilts, no matter where they are and they are all over my house...well maybe not so much in the kitchen, but there are  few there too.
The pie safe in the living room got a little update...if the weather doesn't warm up soon I will rearrange the whole house.
The big old copper rooster moved to the front hall...the sign behind him says "Summer"...wishful thinking on my part.
The "Give Thanks" sign hangs on the freezer door...I still love my paneled fridge . The sign reminds me to be thankful every  day for all the blessings that God has blessed us with.

That's all for this time...

So, from my porch to yours...

Have a blessed week.

I have made one quilt thus far and plan to make more.. I am im the process of repairing/restoring a purchased 1930s quilt..it was handstitched and made with the feedsack fabric of that era. Anyway, I like your blog.

    1. Hi Wanda, I do remember you and I could answer yes to most of your questions, some of my quilts were made by my mom's mom and some were made by me and I buy old and new quilts. I'm not so good at quilting though. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog, I appreciate knowing that you are reading it and really appreciate the comments. Please post a pic of your quilt on F.B. when you are finished with it I would love to see it. Katie
