First project of 2012

This is a deacons bench that I have had for 25 years or so. Yesterday I took a paintbrush to it.Add caption

 This is the first coat of paint after drying overnight.
 This is what it looked like after sanding to add some age and one coat of Old English.
This is the view of the other side...I'm liking this look a lot. More on the primitive side.

    I love the finished piece. It is "aged" perfectly. Just the right amount. Gingham is perfect on it! :-) Very nice.
