This weeks blog just seemed to fall in my lap. I was planning on doing one on pewter but this little dresser was crying out to be "fixed up" so here we go. My neighbor, Mary, was on her way to walk the dog when she spotted this little dresser setting on the side of the road with a huge "FREE" sign on it. She threw it in her trunk and dropped it off at my house and said, "Can you fix this up for your sale?
Honestly, this dresser was a real mess when it arrived here, each drawer had something written on it in that black felt marker stuff, you know, the kind that is permanent, sort of.
The sides and drawers were real wood but the back was that crappy stuff that doesn't even feel or look like wood. So off that came and in its place...real wood. Side note: My computer has taken over and won't let me print where I want to so I'm going to try and do it its' way.
I mixed light green paint with a pewter color and this is the outcome. Of course I aged it a little.
Here's the side view and the next picture is the finished product. I have to say "I love this".
It has the look of an old wash stand, I think. OOPS! I took this picture before we put the drawer knobs on. They are green glass, just like the old dressers would have had. This is going in my sale but to be honest, I sort of hope it doesn't sell. I mean , Who can't use a few more drawers?
Well, that's all for this week...
So, from my porch to yours...
Have a Blessed Week.
Wow! I love it. :)
