Just a little more chaos...

Just a few close ups ...I realized that my earlier pictures made it difficult to see some of the smaller items...and there are quite a few.

I love these old wooden flags, they look good inside or out.

Uncle Sam sits in this screened window in the summer and a snowman sits there in winter. This is a three piece item. so to speak.

Being a basket maker I just had to include a few of these.

These shutter shelves are sooooo cute.....

...they can be hung on the wall of sit on a table.
And these "altered bottles" are just for fun..and it was fun making them...

Wish me luck with my sale....

Thanks for stopping by.

Out of Chaos Comes...More Chaos!

Well, with just one week left till our Antique and Folk Art Show and I just saw the extended weather forecast and the day is supposed to be beautiful. I keep thinking I'm going to go to all this trouble and nobody is going to show up, what if they don't like my stuff and did I price it too high or did I price it to low ?YIKES!!!!  I do that every time.

This is a sample of some of my brand of "chaos". This particular mess is in my craft/work room,
.
and this mess is all around the house.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            The front hall is piled high with assorted items that have already been priced. Some of the larger pieces of furniture are storing some of the smaller pieces
This little beauty, in the picture  below, is the one found on the side of the road with the "FREE" sign on it. Would you believe that last Sunday on my way to Church, there was another dresser with "FREE" on it.  Thank goodness I had my cell phone with me...one call to Tim and we were in business again...but that is another story.

Here is the pie safe that he made...I may have to start making pies. Not really.

I've been putting signs around town and will put ad in paper next Tuesday..the  best is yet to come, I really do enjoy the sale day. I just pray that the weather is a good as the weather man said, at any rate I'm committed now so if I have to I will have the sale in the house. Not so much fun.

Well, that's all for this week...so

From My Porch to Yours....

Have a blessed week.

Everything Old is Old!!!

You see I had this old chair and I wasn't really happy with it, the cushion cover had some stains that I didn't care for so I tried to wash the cover...it shrank so badly that it wouldn't fit back on the cushion. Happy accident? Maybe. Anyway, here is a picture of the chair, front and back. To be honest, the proportions look different in the picture than they do in person. Hmm, I think it's that way for me too.
Kind of yucky, if I do say so myself.  I was looking at Pinterest and came across this Blog where the gal reupholstered a chair using old lace and doilies...I didn't have any lace but did have a plethora of old doilies. I tea dyed them to give them a sort of uniform color and got a couple of tubes of fabric glue and I was off.
This is one piece that went all the way around the chair...wow!!! I was lucky there, saved a lot of time.
Close up of the side , under the arm, I'm liking this so far.
I got the upper back and arms covered and I ran out of glue. It took more than I expected, always does.
While I was waiting to go to the store for more glue I "auditioned" different pieces of doilies that I had on hand. I would pin them in place and check out how they fit.
OK!!!! Got more glue and again I'm on my way...this is fun and sort of easy, sore back though, from bending over the chair for so long.
This is the inside arm and back and I must say that the color looks more yellow then it really is.. it is the color of tea, really.
The back I had to sew on with needle and thread, yuk, that was hard. Also, in real life, you can't see the under fabric like you can in the picture...must be the flash that does that.
This is the "finished" chair..sort of, I still have to make a cushion and I'm going to use an old bedspread that I tea dyed  and I'm going to make a few pillow covers from the bedspread as well, those I will sew up by machine.

Well, this project was fun and I really do like the chair, what do you think? Let me know.  Now I've got to get back to painting, staining, sanding some of the items for our sale.. things are shaping up pretty well for that. I just hope it doesn't rain, I don't want to have to have it in the house.

That's all for this week...so
